From the Vault: Kumble takes eight in Sydney

 we know that uh there's a lot of spin a lot of turn in this pitch stupid girl got plenty but he didn't get any wickets i knew kumble won't turn it as much but will be very dangerous indeed god shouts of catch it mid-off is under it and he's taken the catch so that's a good reward for anil kumble he's been far and away the best uh bowler for india he has troubled hayden and he's finally got his wicket i reckon he was going to go over mid wicket and then the ball dropped on him beat him in the flight and the resulting outside edge went off that i think is beautiful straight up keeper's gone for it and well taken well he certainly wanted the ball and he was the man to go after it good reward for the little 18 year old good reward for a neil kun blade trying to lose their second we're going to put innings from justin langer 2 for 214. well that's got to be worth a shout umpire buckneur has a long look and kumble really has got his tail up he's got the top three it was an excellent delivery caught ricky potting shuffling across right in front of the stumps faster straighter one hit him on the knee roll probably going on to hit the middle of the leg stump got him cotton balled a little lollipop catch back to the bowler anil kumble is rarely causing problems out here now he's got all four and that really was a little lollipop looked like a top spinner to me oh we'll have a look at that that was a brilliant piece of bowling that was the top spinner oh he's quarterback i don't think he's any better yeah there is he's got him what a catch what a catch conway struck again and he's got five and he's deserved every one of them difficult to tell there was the wrong one chopra did well that's absolute full stretch there he's done well to hang on to it after banging into the ground man at long on savage and he's got it caddish didn't try and hit that very hard it was more like a little chip shot and he's chipped it straight to savage caddish will be very annoyed with himself here he didn't try to hit it hard he well the other thing he can do as well as a very good defense either against the kwiks or the spinners it can hit the slog sweep pretty good against the spinners gets that front foot out the way it's gone stumped surely i don't think westby knows i think that's gone i think he's got another wicket come combine it's a wonderful performance and a nice little stump in the ball bounced there he goes there's the ball and that's out well down on neil kumbwei neal conway 47 overs he's bowled almost seven for 141 well it's getting interesting now shane ward excellent innings from jason westman he's done his great job and getting a great evasion from the crowd nine for 474 here swing the man's there he's back he's back oh good catch good catch and conway's got eight what a performance the gurkha takes a very good outfield catch but neil kumbay stand tall a wonderful effort he's got eight for 141 the gurkha took a very very good catch super catch well deserved by neil kumble gurkha looked like it came in a bit too far end up running back it took a very very good catch wonderful ovation for white 46. 5 overs eight for 141 he's had a very very good season what a great comeback in australia bob old leading the team off he really has done well
